Hand Forged 1084 Petty Chef with Stabilized Maple Handle

$210.00

Made as a demonstration during Hardy and Fullers 2 day Petty Chef class, this 1084 Blade had been forged entirely by hand, over hammer and anvil. Albeit less refined than my in-house versions, this makes for an excellent grab-and-go cooking knife.

It shares all of the design elements as my usual petty chefs, with the difference of having been made with only rudimentary tools. The spine is more robust, coming in at 3.6 at its widest, but the well-cut machine finished bevels make up for it by coming down to almost nothing before reaching the primary edge. The top 1/3 of the blade is ground into a distal taper, making a well defined point that lends well to controlled tip cuts

The handle is the same construction as the ones made in-house, with durable stabilized Curly Maple, capped with an off white synthetic stone corian bolster. Blended seamlessly with the handle, the choil and spine of the knife is rounded and polished, fir a comfortable pinch grip

Blade length 6”

Height at heel: 2”

Spine at its thickest: 3.6mm

Rugged and Refined, this knife would find itself happy in a camp kitchen ⛰️
