1084 K-tip Chef with Red Stabilized Maple Handle

$475.00

Since my first iteration of making my pattern no.1 chef's knife, I have always been fascinated with adding Japanese influenced cutlery among what I offer in a way that was intentional, and true to what I believe makes my knives unique. This is the result: the 220mm k tip chef's knife.

The blade is 1084 high carbon, with a 3/4 hidden tang design, with red curly maple chosen as the main material. The handle has been stabilized with resin, filling any voids and making the wood more dense, more durable, and more water resistant. The bolster is an earthy Corian and white G10 liner, meeting up to a mirror finished choil and spine, rounded for comfort. The heel of the blade is just around 60mm wide, giving excellent clearance from the cutting board.

It has been truly exciting exploring and working on this new style of knife, and I'm certain it will make an excellent kitchen companion.

specifications:

spine at heel thickness: 2.74mm

heel height: 60mm

blade length: 215mm

handle length: 125mm
